What is mediation?
Mediation is a process that gives you and your spouse/partner the opportunity to reach an agreement, with the assistance of a third party. You can attend mediation to try and reach an agreement in respect of arrangements with your children, and/or in relation to a financial settlement.
Mediators are an impartial third party and their role is to guide you and your spouse/partner towards reaching an amicable agreement.
The main advantage of attending mediation is to allow you and your spouse/partner to be creative in reaching an agreement between you, rather than a third party making these important decisions for you.
What happens after I have attended mediation?
Whilst we do not offer mediation services ourselves, we would be more than happy to consider and advise on any agreement that you have reached through mediation.
We are also able to assist in putting a financial agreement you have reached through mediation into a Consent Order, thus making the agreement legally binding.
If you have not managed to reach an agreement through mediation and would like to know what further options are available to you, we can also help you with this.
