Applying for a family visa
You will be required to apply for a UK Family Visa if you:
- Are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA)
- Intend to remain in the UK for more than six months
- Have an eligible relationship, to either a person settled in the UK or an individual with refugee status or humanitarian protection
You may be able to switch to a UK Family Visa if you are already in the UK in a different visa. This may be the case if you are seeking to remain in the UK to stay with a spouse, partner, child or parent.
