Preparing a Will
With research showing that almost 60% of people do not have a Will or have a Will which is out of date, there is increasing uncertainty created following the death of a loved one. Making future provisions under a professionally structured Will ensure that your Estate is distributed as much as possible to your chosen Beneficiaries, whilst making the most of current Legislation to minimise any exposure to Inheritance Tax Liabilities.
Our specialist team of dynamic Wills and Probate Solicitors provide clear legal advice, explained in a straightforward but sensitive manner, ensuring that you fully understand the information to enable you to make any decisions.
Why make a Will?
Making a Will and planning ahead is one of the most important decisions you can make for your family or loved ones. A properly drafted Will enables you to leave your possessions to whoever you want, it allows you to make provisions for Minors such as Guardianship (those appointed as carers for your children under the age of 18 years) and the appointment of Executors & Trustees (those people appointed to carry out the wishes in your Will), to safeguard your Estate until it can be distributed to your chosen Beneficiaries. It can also help avoid any potential issues arising such as passing proportions of the Estate between unmarried persons, any possible family feuds regarding inheritance and any delay in distributing your Estate in accordance with your wishes, and not as is dictated by Legislation. You may have promised items to people during your lifetime, but without a Will, these promises have no automatic right to be carried out. If you live with someone but are not married or in a civil partnership, your Partner will have no automatic right to inherit any of your Estate.
Our personable service ensures that you have a dedicated Solicitor who will discuss your personal circumstances ensuring you receive professional and trusted advice tailored to you as an individual, providing you with essential information and guidance of all key issues to reassure you that you are making the best decision for you personally.
